I had the pleasure of 3 days of cenote diving with Pluto Dive in Playa Del Carmen. Having not dived cenotes before, I was hoping for a professional operation, with a strong emphasis on safety and a dive guide with true passion for this activity. Since the rule for all cenotes is max 4 divers to one guide and you drive 30-45 minutes with the guide to the site, having a passionate, fun, skilled guide was important to me. On all accounts, Pluto Dive delivers. We started our day just before 8 am at the shop to load our guide, Andrea's, truck and were the first to the site most times. His briefings and safety discussions were excellent. He first, before gearing up, took us down to the entry, explained the process and then showed us the map. Each dive received plenty of attention from him in his briefing and rules discussions. Never rushed nor did he seem like he wanted to get through the briefing. He checked on us throughout the dive without seeming intrusive. At the end, he always seemed to be as excited as we were. We dove Ponderosa, Dos Ojos, Tajma Ha, the Pit, Zapote and Kin Ha. All amazing, but the bell structures at Zapote and Kin Ha are truly magical. See below.
Barbara and Alberto are the owners of the shop and lead dives as well. They are great people, fun to be around and when I return, I'd love to dive with them at least once.
Anyway, I highly recommend Pluto Dive if you're anywhere near Playa and want to experience for the first-time or as a repeat the wonders of diving the cenotes.
