I spent some time this weekend in Del Rio, Texas and at Lake Amistad. I decided to take my son snorkling in San Felipe Creek (run-off from the springs located in Del Rio). I could not believe the number and size of Plecostomus we observed there. They were litererally every two or three feet spread out across the area we snorkeled. When I got back home I did a little research and found they are considered an invasive species and potentially threatening to the native fishes including one on the endangered species list.

So, my question is this.. Anyone ever heard of "Pleco Round Up" to thin out the population?:coffee:

No, but the first time I saw one in Lake Travis I couldn't believe my eyes. I hear they are very prevalent in the Comal/Guadalupe Rivers as well.
