I'm a caver who cave dives.... And I would never advocate diving like that.

I'll agree about the two different mindsets.

Cavers like me who cave dive tend to have more respect for caves than divers who cave dive... And so we tend to avoid things like pulling ourselves along the bottom and using poor technique that could potentially damage the cave.

Whereas divers who cave dive tend to see that the ends justify the means...

If there ever was a load of horsecrap this post is it.

I pray that you are correct and I am wrong....

I have dove with about a dozen dedicated dry cavers and its all the same. There are those who do it so they can say " im a cave diver " and then there are those who are protective of the cave because its something they love to see. Everyone I dive with has the same attitude I have about protecting the cave. You screw up with us and damage the cave and you wont be asked to come back, its that cut and dry. We dont post a lot of our stuff because the systems are pristine and we aim to keep it that way. That video showed nothing wrong for that type of cave. In others I might have had a stroke watching it, the cave will dictate whats ok and whats not. I have done several dry caves too, I see more damage in those than you will ever see in submerged caves, training caves not being counted.

Well-exposed, steady, easy to see what going on, generally good angles.

Makes me want to dive there, so I'll file that video under 'pretty good'.

Interesting to read your opinions, some of them showing not very open minded points of view, others pretty funny.

I don´t know the two divers, but I´m pretty sure they knew what they were doing and used the appropriate equipment for their dive, which was most probably a sump dive, or a training for one. The way they moved and the way this film was taken shows this.

What´s wrong about using special equipment and technique for a special dive. Cave diving is not "one fits all"

It looks like he has been there many times, although I would have liked to see his gear a little more stream lined. I can remeber diving Ginnie Springs in Florida and the flow was so strong that you had no choice but to grab ahold of a rock and pull yourself in. Thats much different from other caves we have dove with Clay bottoms. It was pretty cool to see the doubles bagged up so he could carry them in the cave if need be. I think he is a InterSanctom Canidate :)
