I was searching the archives at "Bonaire Talk" for info on the Plaza in preparations on our trip on the 17th and came across this post: "I am returning to the Plaza in February and wanted to know from anyone who has been there recently if they have upgraded to real washcloths and coffee pots or do they still have a hot pot and disposable paper wash cloths????" (See this thread before it goes off topic: http://www.bonairetalk.com/newsgroup/messages/24/136817.html)

Can anyone that's been there recently fill me in on this?

I stayed at the Plaza about 3 weeks ago. Plenty of washclothes. I didn’t pay attention to anything about coffee since I rarely drink it. Overall, it was a 1st class experience.

I was there last week - had a great time. Saw a pod of dolphins whilst we were diving! :-D

Anyway - we were staying in the Junior Suites we had a pool/ocean view and just steps away from the dive shop. We were close to the maid room and on the ground floor so it was a little noisy. I would avoid J001>J006 if you want complete peace and quiet. Nothing major just a little niggle!
We had disposable wash cloths which never bothered me as I'm an exiled Brit and I've never understood the American obsession with washcloths anyway! But I am sure they would have brought us some washcloths had we wanted them. We had a full sized coffee machine with a selction of coffee and creamers.

My fave dive site was Atlantis - it's on the map but not in any of the dive books. Hilma Hooker was fun. As was 1000 Steps and Karpata.

I was a little disappointed in Toucan Divers. Very poor site briefings, no boat briefings and minimal assistance in and out of the water. Also, they don't tell you where they are going to until they leave the dock so you could end up going to a shore dive close by which I think is a waste of money! You can request a dive site on the whiteboard and all of our requests were honored. I wouldn't 'pre-pay' for boat dives there again - I would go 'al a carte'!

The Town Pier and Salt Pier are now closed to divers so that they can adhere to US port safety regulations. It's a real shame as the Salt Pier is such a great site.

The Plaza is a great resort and I would return again and again!

We were there 3 weeks ago, and NO washcloths or coffemaker. Just the paper washcloths and hot pot. We stayed in a Grand Suite, so I can't speak for the 1/2 bedroom villas.

We just took some Folgers coffee dippers (like tea bags). They are actually pretty good!!
