We have stayed at Allwest a number of times and noticed over the years and particularly on our last trip in 2023 a marked increase in the number of tourists coming to the beach during the day. We have seen larger and more frequent tour buses and snorkel boats coming during the day with the numbers of tourists dramatically increasing. Would be interested in hearing from others who have stayed out that way on what they have observed in the past year or so. Thx.

I was just on the island last week, and made three trips to Westpunt. I think you noticed exactly what has changed. They are feeding the turtles at Playa Piscado, so that has become an everyday stop, and the restaurant on the cliff has cruisers daily as well it seems. I stay away from both areas now.

There's a beach club there now. Parking can be a bit of a challenge too now. It's what we call 'progress'

I noticed that if you arrive to Playa Piscado early(before 9ish) it was not busy. Any later, total circus. Fortunately, I noticed that most of the people didn't venture beyond chest deep water. Personally, I think it is a recipe for disaster. Either by a turtle bite or a predator finding some easy scraps, tangling with a tourist. You can still encounter the turtle magic by swimming from All West to the west. Just avoid exiting at Playa Piscado where the dock and parking lot are crazy.

When staying in Westpunt in Feb, the former Kura Hulanda was being remodeled. I think one of the new areas of the complex is the casual lodging 'Bike and Hike Westpunt'. Perhaps that is tied with the beach club? I will have to defre to the experts to weigh in.

Yes, because there are lots turtles. They are carting people from all over the island by busloads and they're floating around the fishing pier p*ss*ng off the fishermen. And the beach club whose patrons sometimes decide to go fishing from shore in front of AllWest steps and you have to be careful coming out from the dive.
