Plastic 6-pack Holders

Hi All,

Whenever we buy a 6-pack of soda that comes in one of those plastic holders, I always cut it up so no birds or fish or any other animal can get caught up in it.

I'm curious, anyone else out there have this habit?

Personally, I'd rather see the drinks come with something else to hold the 6-pack together, but you have to take what you get sometimes.

Would it be embarrasing to tell you I got my two hands and two feet cuffed together in one of those things and couldn't get it off? If so, I won't tell you.

I haven't seen one of those in years. Seems like everything is in boxes now. But I really don't shop much, so I could be wrong.

Still around but more on beer than anything. Yes, I do cut them up when I get one. I remember the big push years ago when birds where flying around with those on their necks.
I won't ask how you got your hands and feet caught in one.

Don't see them often anymore, but if I do, I definetly cut them up. You never know when mempilot might come around!

Tear them apart, although i dont buy much that they come attached too, so no call for it in quite a while.

All kidding aside, I thought these things got banned? I guess I don't spend much time in grocery stores.

I used to do it when I bought six packs (usually soft drinks but beer too). It has been so long since I bought one that I haven't done it in years. When I drink, I drink wine or sake. I still do it with ones I find though.

I have seen marine life caught in the stuff.

Inexpensive BEER (mmmm...Beer!!) comes in cases when sold to the liquor stores.

However the liquor stores want to sell by the bottle, and by the six pack.

Our local liquor store spends a few hours once a week removing Miller Light (and other such domestic beer) from the cases, and putting them in these holders (which they purchase seperately).

I have also purchased cheepo knockoff soda from Wall Mart, and they came in these things. So the bottom line is they are still around...

Yes, I cut them up. I grew up in Oregon, and the whole "Give a Hoot...", "Only you can pervent...", and eco training that was pounded into me as a Kid really worked!!
