I am probably looking at 27 hours from my house to the Manila airport vs 29 to the Denpasar airport. Then 3 boring hours in Manila in a cab, vs less than 1 in Denpasar, and I probably lose more travel time going to PG.
You are going to stay exclusively in Denpasar or have somewhere in mind?

If I do a Mermaid trip, I won't venture too far from Denpasar. I am not really sure where the boundaries are, but draw a 1 hour region around the airport and another around the port the Mermaid leaves and I doubt I'd venture outside of those.

Komodo with extra time near Labuan Bajo is also an option. I might be tempted to go a little further as there is less in Labuan Bajo itself.

I got lucky as far as airlines. I leave Saturday night, Feb 8th and arrive on my birthday (10th) in Manila at 7am. Flight home is even easier, 1 stop at San Francisco, leaving in the Morning on the 20th and arriving here at night. Komodo will have to wait for next year.

I usually don't like posting exact dates of travel, as I am worried about robbers or maybe my ex-wife knowing I am gone and deciding to visit. My cat needs medication, so I plan to have a sitter here twice a day.

Plenty of time to make the Si-Kat connection on your arrival day.
White taxi to City State Tower Hotel is about P300.00 from T1, T2 or T3. Yellow airport taxi will announce to everyone that you had just arrived from aboard!!!!

Plenty of time if my flights go as scheduled, a 20th century luxury that has only gotten rarer post-covid.

Trike from Balatero pier to Sabang is a flat rate of P250.00(could be more next year). On the way back is P300.00!!
From Sabang to El Galleon in Small La Laguna is a short walk along the paved promenade. So unless your bag does not has wheels otherwise it is rather straight forward.
You will notice there are a few inexpensive but nice resorts along the way.

Hah! We were going to Barcelona in November 2024. Arrived over Spain early, but the rain did not stay on the plain. After some circling, we landed maybe 20-30 minutes late. About 1 hour to clear Spanish immigration (only a handful of people working, and the electronic entry controls were not working), then, another 2-3 hours before the baggage got off the airplane and on the carousels! (airport ground operations were halted shortly after we landed, due to the local weather).

I had a couple of flights in the past two years from a major American airline (pun intended) where they had mechanical issues, and of course, sent the connecting flight on, because the on-time departure metric costs them less than the accommodating the unhappy connecting passengers.

For my trip in May, I take Southwest to LAX, with more than 4 hrs to get from LAX Terminal 1 to Bradley Int'l terminal on the way out, and about 3 hrs from Bradley Int'l arrivals to LAX T1 (assuming it doesn't land early--prevailing winds tend to be from the W on transpacific).

Enjoy your trip, looking forward to lots of pictures etc!

What shop are you heading to? I'll be doing my DMT at Asia Divers at that time

I was planning on the whole trip at Asia divers. Now I'm wondering if I should take a day or two at Aniloa.
