I just did 10 days in Sabang Beach including two trips to Verde. (Spectacular). I would try and do another location too. 10 days was too long in that place. One week is adequate.

Call it whatever you like, Centrals but my Singaporean Chinese relatives call it Chinese New Year. And yes, celebrated all over the place, especially SE Asia. It's a very difficult time of year to travel. Just as is Christmas.

I haven't been to the Philippines during the Lunar New Year celebrations, so can't respond in that regard.

Whatever you call it, it seems like it is more than 1 day, and I've seen various dates for when it ends. If I want to avoid it, what is the earliest February date to travel?

This is disappointing. From the videos I've seen, it looked amazing. Is a separate trip to Anilao worth considering? Or are you in the same water looking at the same dive sites?

Remember that we were doing at minimum 4 daily dives. The diving is excellent but after a week, it became quite repetitive. I would strongly advise limiting the trip to six or seven days max in Sabang Beach then moving elsewhere. If you have not dived Siquijor or Apo Island, these were wonderful dives. I have not been to Anilao.

Dives per day probably does make a difference. We did 30 over 10 days and did not find it repetitive.

I can go for 2 weeks max, including travel time, which is probably close to 4 days. I'd rather not go to the opposite side of the country.

The lunar new year officially begins 1/29/2025. Celebrations will typically start the day before, and can run as much as 1 week after. The Philippines do not appear to celebrate as much as other countries in Southeast Asia.
