Hello,

I will be in Pismo beach next week and am looking for someone to dive with on June 28th, 29th, or 30th. I'm up for anytype of diving activity and don't have a problem with difficult entry/exits, low viz, long surface swims, or steep hikes to the dive site.

If you're going out anywhere near Pismo, please email me!

Thanks,
Jeff

" don't have a problem with difficult entry/exits, low viz, long surface swims, or steep hikes to the dive site."

That in a nut shell describes diving in and around Pismo--so you have been forwarned.

The better diving is Shell Beach (the northern section of Pismo Beach) and points north of there.

There are three local dive operators
1) "Pismo Dive shop" also sells surfboards, garden supplies etc
San Luis Obispo Operators:
2) "SLO ocean currents" A PADI shop, oldest in the area, mostly promotes dive trips
3) "Depth Perceptions" A very professional shop, HQ of SLO S &R team, lots of historical equipment, books pictures and my 17 pound lobster mount on display...

Hope this is of some assistance to you for your visit.

I must decline your offer to dive; I only dive in warm water and with my wife a diver of almost fifty years and/or my son who is the local ER/Hyperbaric doctor.

FYI Pismo Beach is cool in the AM - jacket or sweatshirt, warm & sunny during after noon to sun down, then cool. Water is cooler than SoCal..

Sorry for the delay in responding to your request - SDM

Are you hoteling?

Camping?

Where & what number?

Advise and maybe we can get together for a visit to get to know each other.

Cheers from a cool Pismo Beach, which is exactly where I am headed with my little dog Max

Jeff,

You are welcome..

Checked out the "HARD CORE DIVE TEAM," Very impressive, and indeed hard core!

Thanks for the invite to dive SoCal...I know most of the dive locations very well--40 years ago I was the co-author of "Diving West"..The first west coast diving guide. While you are checking dive guides check out Shecklers dive guide and Moss street in Laguna Beach..."Miller's Reef." Dale reported "it was just too far for the average diver to swim..." For those who frequent the dive park it probably is..for the Hard core dive team == a snap! Check it out.

So I must decline your offer to dive; I now only dive in warm water and with my wife a diver of almost fifty years and/or my son who is the local ER/Hyperbaric doctor who is also like me a Pro 5000 Diver. (Always great to have a very experienced hyperbaric doctor in the family..)

You are always welcome to come back again to Pismo

Diving Central California is an adventure of top priority - thanks for sharing your experience in this area.

I always look at White Rock when traveling north on the 101 through Pismo. ChartGuide says it is a half mile offshore and the seaward side drops vertical to 45 feet. Wonder if there are any nudis out there???.....
