Pioneer 27 or 36??

I bought my wing from 5th Dimension (Andrew G's place) in Washington. I purchased it there rather than at Extreme Exposure in Florida because it was a couple of bucks cheaper there.

RavenC purchased hers from Extreme Exposure because my wing took nearly 10 days to get to me from Washington State. Hers arrived overnight; well worth the $10 or so that hers cost over mine.

...And hers came with a high pressure inflator hose attached. Mine didn't. I ended up purchasing one from EE for like $35.

Now, nearly all of my business goes to EE. Their prices are a little high, IMHO, but thier service and expertise is the best I've seen anywhere. You also might run into some of the well-known cavers in the area, including Jarrod or GI3, if you call or stop by. It's always fun to chat with them and bounce ideas off of them. They're really great guys.

I've ordered all my Halcyon gear from Extreme Exposure. The guys are really nice and my gear arrives in about 3 days. (I'm in NC though...)

All Halcyon pricing is going to be farily similiar though...

Did you mean a low pressure inflator hose or do you have some sort of high speed inflation system that your keeping a secret from us

I was trying to remember what I didn't get... And I was thinking that I had to purchase a high pressure hose, too...

But I meant "low pressure hose." LOL!!!

You need enough lift to be positive buoyant while at depth (wetsuit buoyancy almost 0) with a full tank. The rest of of this post just repeats that in more detail.

Figure in the negative buoyancy of whatever BP you have, plus the negative buoyancy of your full tank, plus your lead. Your reg and other gear might be a couple more pounds.

The wing may or may not have the rated lift. For a fudge factor you might assume it is 20% less than rated lift.

Since your wetsuit will be giving you floatation on the surface, if you have enough lift to get off the bottom, then you should be floating reasonably high in the water at the surface --- so surface floatation shouldn't be the determining factor witha 7 mil suit.

Ordered my Pioneer 27, with SS backplate and ACB+ system..

should have it to try out by this weekend......can you say...STROKE!!!!!!!!!

Have you dived a bp/wing before?

If not, you're gonna be floored with the precision buoyancy available to you.

...What you're not going to be pleased with is the setup. Getting everything adjusted properly is a simple process, but it does take time... Which is a little frustrating because "regular" BC's don't require it.

In fact, if you're like me, you'll make tiny adjustments for about half a dozen dives or so.

But when you finally get it nailed... Ain't nothin' like it.

...So be patient with it at first and don't expect to be blown away for the first few dives.

Did you buy it complete from EE? I mean, will you have to assemble it, or is it already assembled for you? If it's already assembled, then most of the work's already done for you...

Let us know if we can be of any help. Have you ever seen the "right" way to fit the bp/wing?

It's not a complicated process... Just unfamiliar.

I purchased the MC system...whatever that means......I think it means the BP/Wing come together..hehehe, comes with the Option Pak too..whatever, I ordered what I wanted.

I also got the ACB+ system.

Ordered from EE as you both suggested. Spoke to a real helpful guy, forgot his name though.....I should have it by Thursday. Everything was in stock and is shipping today.

I am a tad apprehensive about this as it will be my first significant equipment change since being certified, but it makes sense to me...I am pretty darn comfortable in the water with my back inflate and my trim is pretty darn good.......but this system looks so much cleaner/neater/simplistic.....I'm all about keeping it simple.
