Except this year we should choose a date that a majority agree's on instead of one person choosing the date by ultimate decree.

The date was agreed upon at Vortoberfest(1), the original, a year is enough time to re-arrange any plans you might have, aside from child birth :P There was nothing wrong with the date, we had pretty much all the people from the original Vortoberfest + quite a few new participants.

I believe we are still aiming for the same date this year, but perhaps a new location, maybe Gulf Shores/Orange Beach.

If we go to Vortex, I'll be diving elsewhere. I'll pay the swimmer's entry fee for the "eatin' meetin'" but the diving is better down the road. I'll have my tanks full too since they charge extra to us outsiders :D.

Yeah, I'll be diving elsewhere as well, but I'll still play the bloated camping fee to hang out with the party over night. :) I sures hell don't wanna drive after the 'beer' tastin!

Yep... that childbirth date thing just isn't negotiable. Trust me. :D

And he wasn't born until the next week after Vortoberfest! D'oh!

As for the dates for this year, Arkansas plays Auburn the 2nd weekend. (maybe I can snag a satellite dish for the weekend). That should be a good game only because the Hogs won the SEC west and beat Auburn last year. I can't remember who Bama played, but it wasn't an important game.

I'm OK for moving it or leaving it. But I'm doubting that I'd dive there much either if left at Vortex.

Gulf Shores or Panama City sounds good. Destin is OK also, but just not enough public parking at the jetties.

However, the tides aren't great for the first two weekends in October at any of the locations.

There's nowhere to have a cookout at the jetties... I don't think anyone wants to drag a cooker out on that walk, with or without Yoda's wheels. PCB could work, at St. Andrews, but the diving would be limited to the jetties with optimal times at high slack tide.

Gulf Shores/Orange Beach or the Pensacola/Navarre Beach areas would be optimal, lots of public beaches/parks and a variety of diving, shore or otherwise.

Well UGA v. Florida is Oct 27th, so scratch that one ;D

UGA @ Tennessee is Oct 6th.... not missing this, payback's a *****

UGA @ Vandy is Oct 13th, although we can miss this one.

We have a buy on the 20th. The representatives from Georgia hereby state that the weekends of the 13th or the 20th would work best for us :D

I'm sure we'll have radio/tv's onsite; and drunken post dive sausage cookout entertainment.
