I'm pretty sure they are different fish. Both the black and the white spot pattern is different (although there are a few similarities).

Dette and I saw one tonight. Very, Very small.

Amazingly huge Pectoral fins. Giant, huge, black pectoral fins. Just like in the pics.

Freakishly huge - like St Bernard Puppy feet huge. Totally outsized pec fins.

He was a little spaz. It was fun. He was bolting all over the place, and then resting, then bolting some more.

He ran under Claudette and kinda hid in her fins. She was all looking under herself. It was silly.

Frankly, I'm simply amazed that you folks even saw the wee ones...I'm envious of your exceptional vison :337:
 
Sorry - just spotted this. Scott, I don't know if you saw on the other board, but Jen and i also saw one of these fishat around 90 ft. No picture unfortunately. Very cool that they're there!!!
