We are heading to Turqouis Bay Aug 8-16th and can't wait. I thought I would post some pics that my buddy took from one of his trips there. Why does time drag so slow when you have a trip planned. UGh, I want to go now.

Wearing gloves
Handling critters
Hope you have a heart-to-heart chat with your "buddy"

Thanks for bringing that up, Doc! My wife and I have never traveled on a dive vacation and are relative newbies to the etiquette of diving. I wouldn't have given that a second thought. I will make sure we don't breech those rules when we go.

Not only etiquette - it's the rules. Roatan Marine Park » Marine Reserve By-Laws
Divers are not permitted to use gloves.
It is not permitted to touch, stand on, take or remove marine organisms which are alive or dead, including: soft or hard shelled snails, conchs, fish or any other forms of life.
Most of where you'll be diving from Turquoise Bay is in one of the protected zones. Roatan Marine Park » Map of zonifications of the protected areas around Roatan Subway should ask you to purchase a MP tag also when you're getting set up with them.
