Phuket - Please suggest snorkeling trip for beginners.

I will be in Phuket in late November with only one day available for a snorkeling trip. There will be 8 of us, 2 experienced and 6 absolute beginners. From what I have been reading it sounds like Racha Noi or RachaYai would be a good destination but I'd like some feedback from someone who knows the area.

Also, where can we find an easy beach entry where gear can be rented so I can get them comfortable with snorkeling before the big boat trip? We will be staying at Baan Laimai Beach Resort.

Yes I did a search and am trying to sort out the bewildering amount of information and opinions.
I want some help to be sure that the trip I pick is best for the time of year and inexperienced nature of most of our group.

Best snorkeling trip would be to Racha Noi and Racha Yai, both for the experienced oines and the beginners. To get beginners more accustomed to snorkeling, go to one of the beaches with easy access, Kata e.g. would be good.
