I was fortunate to be asked to do an underwater photo shoot at Weeki Wachee today. The mermaids dressed up in their "patriotic" tails and wore Speedo caps and goggles in honor of Michael Phelps and the entire USA Olympic team.

I know it is a tough gig having to spend the afternoon swimming with beautiful young bikini-clad mermaids, but someone has to do it. :)

Oh Doug, you've really got it tough there in FL. I'm sure you only did this because you considered it your patriotic duty!

I am jealous of you Doug....so I went out and tried an experiment of sorts. I figured that if I sank a toy castle where I dive, I might get a mermaid coming up to me puckering up. The results you can see below prove it was a complete failure. It was no mermaid that appeared before me.

Larry and Steve --

Yes, I'm just a patriotic guy. By the way, if I need a "mermaid handler" in the future, are either of you guys available?

Doug

P.S. That's one ugly fish!

I do not think I would need much convincing Doug.

:no I'm quite sure Carol would not approve of my "handling" mermaids, but heck, it's for my country, right?

Hmmm... those don't look like the same girls I saw at Weeki Wachee back in the 50's.
