clgsamson:
Hi Dennis, just came back from Boracay. Did some so-so dives and 2 good ones, Yapak and The Channels.

How are you doing? Don't worry, when you get back here in the PI in September I'll go diving with you. Basura?:)

How was the vis, Caloy?

Great viz, I'd say 80ft plus...Yapak was great. Great Barracudas and big trevallies were on station. We reached 140ft and we can see the sloping reef but still didn't reach it. It was deep, the abyss at the end of the slope was just beckoning:)

The other dive site in the southern part of Boracay called The Channel is right in the middle of Boracay and Panay Islands. You backroll and the fun starts right away. "Supersonic" drift dive cause of the funnel. Current just blew us, not a photo op dive since you cannot stop to take pix. You'll see lots of beutiful soft corals, not much fish activity though.

Finally a wreck dive, Camia Wreck. Nice, clear viz, not much fish activity and the wreck (big cargo steel boat) is intact. Holds are open for easy vertical penetration. Dipped my head inside and saw plenty of big stone and lion fishes. Hehe..of course, I retreated. The other dives were sleepers.

Diver Dennis:
Sounds like a great trip Caloy. Pics? :D
all topside (later:))...didn't bother bringing the uw camera. I'm glad I didn't, less things to carry, nothing much to see underwater in Boracay. But I would recommend Yapak (reminds me of PG).

paolov:
ah then go to Panay come July. let go there july ?

.
Panay? I did. "Panay Wall" and some other sites which were all sleepers. I can also hear the distinct sound of dynamite fishing in the distance. Tsk tsk I didn't even see a nudibranch! You know what the dive sites reminded me of? Dive and trek reef...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
