I just came back from a great trip to the Philippines, diving Malapascua, Dumaguete and Oslob. I'm quite stoked about some of the shots I got:

The thresher sharks in Malapascua are always a blast, here are 3 in one frame:

Also, Malapascua has mandarin fish:

Oslob is a great place to see whale sharks. Here is my take on the whale shark feeding.

We thoroughly enjoyed our "off-gassing" day at Oslob, and I absolutely agree with your comments.
