Ok!

First of all, my ENT-specialist was happy to hear that I got help from dive medicine experts on this forum. He was curious, and glad to hear you supported our process plan.

Second of all, I got the results from my CT today. They said it indicated pretty clearly that I must've had a serious infection in the right middle ear (or something) when I was a child, and that perhaps that was part of the cause. No other changes - which in and of itself is quite a relief...

I was further referred (what's the correct english word?) to the regional hospital for a follow-up with the allegedly best middle-ear surgeon in Norway:). Tuboplasty/tube dilatation is still on the table, I guess, but I'm pretty happy that I'm finally going up the chain.

Fingers crossed that I get to fly to Japan this summer (although, hopes are still dim...).

Thank you so much for your information and support.

I just don't have words for how much I miss free diving...

Pls ask a DCS specialist if a recompression therapy is suitable for your condition. From your story you could have inner ear DCS.

Hello @Oscar Gerard C. Breva , may I ask what led you to this conclusion? The original injury started with a free dive, and the OP reports consistent difficulty equalizing. His description is not consistent with decompression illness.

Best regards,
DDM
