I too would be very interested to know how it all turns out for you both. We have a son with an ear problem that we hope will not preclude him from diving.
Good luck Mike!

SteveC:
I'm curious, was the ear drum injury from going down, or coming up?

SteveC
Hi steve
Was from going down, to fast and not clearing my ears in time....doh. My son of 14 was on a try dive and I was lurking around at the same time and towarsd the end of the dive i was doing my own thing (he was with the DM and 5 divers), I lost them and came up under a boat that I though was ours only to find out it was one of the other D Shops. Was in the bahamas and to say it was an overdived reef (too commercialised) would be putting it mildly.

I guess I panicked a bit, because of all the traffic on teh surface, got the bearings to my boat and went to go back down from the surface as quick as I could. BANG perfed the ear.

I'm so anoyed at myself as it was my own fault, but to make it worse the diving there (done 2 dives earlier that day) was CRAP. They just wantd the cash.

I found teh ProEar2000 Mask on lin yesterday and that looks like a possible solution to my problem and I' also gouing to contact the local Diving Medical referee this week. Hopefully he can give me a more flexible view point on the prognosis. :06:
Thanks for showing an interest
Mike/UK
