Expensive, yes, I just had to have it.
Leaving no money for the kids.
 
Hmm 100 bucks for a Perdix one, so tempting. I wish they were around 4 years ago before the scuffs!
 
Is there a specific silicone cover that is being discussed here? Upon searching I see a number of after market ones ranging from $40 to $60.
 
I've been diving Shearwater computers for over a decade. Two Petrels, a Perdix and a Peregrine. I don't see the point to these after market covers. The computers are bulletproof as is. I've never had a single nick, scrape, gouge or scratch that was anything more cosmetic.

Just sharing an alternative (but I believe a majority) point of view. If you want one, buy one. If it makes you feel more at ease diving the computer, more power to you.
