Just got back from a weekend of diving at Pennyroyal. Vis was great, >40 ft in some areas. During the night a good amount of rain fell and we cancled the night dive due to vis. By the morning all had cleared up and the vis was great. If you visit the shallows remember it always has a bad vis, but the other areas are great. Also met a few divers from Lex and Danville that were fun to dive with.

Temps?

Jim

Temps were at three thermoclines. Top is about 70, @ 20-50 i believe it was 60- 50 and from 50- below was 45. Sorry, but my comp sucks at taking temps. I would check their site for temps. I was cofortable in a 5-4-3 flex suit with hood layered over a shorty and 5 mil gloves.

I was reading about this place online, and I wouldnt mind driving down there from St.Louis for the weekend. What else is in there besides the helicoptor? The usual?

Going to be in the Cadiz, KY area Aug 20-22. What are the current water temps at Pennyroyal? Their website indicates 67 deg @ 18ft, which I find hard to believe.... I'd never get my wife into that w/ her 3mm....

Jim

Probably not too far off - Mermet reports 73 at 20ft. If I don't have to work at Murray State for opening day on the 21st, I'd be interested in buddying up with someone at Pennyroyal/Cerulean/Mermet. Cerulean should be really nice top to bottom although it is chilly???? here right now.
