I tried out all my equipment yesterday. Water was 65 degrees and i dove in my 3MM suit. Was a little cautious so i only dove in 12 feet. Water was chilly at first but everything was rather comfortable after a little bit in the water.

Tons of huge horseshoe crabs.
Even more Spider crabs all over the place.
Numerous Quohogs like the size of my hand.
a few conch snail (scongeel)
and the treat was to creep up on a winter flounder that was buried in the sand and then took off when i got too close.

that was yesterday...

today i dove again and was keeping up with a flounder about 15 inches long.
Still tons of spiders and horseshoe crabs. Saw an eel swimming around also. I caught 3 lobsters in my pots. pretty nice ones too.

One thing I have noticed is that i am having some trouble with my BC. I have 2 5 weights integrated in my BC (DACOR rig Pro) I release all the air from my BC but i still float....is it possible i need more weight?

Ten pounds isn't a whole lot of weight and at only 1-15 feet you aren't really doing much to compress your suit, even if it is only 3 mil. Try adding a couple lbs.

What was the vis like?

I *tried* 2 dives around Duck Island (one outside, one inside) and the vis was 3 - 5 INCHES.. Not good..

Hope it gets better.
