You could leave it open, but water would get in and that could lead to infection.
It's an expensive valve, would at least like to give it a shot. I have a si-tech valve on my current suit and find it a pain because it is so large. This one is tiny.
Which type is it? Do the hoses just connect to the puck on the suit with barb or so? In most cases the balancing is done/added by just swapping the hose and adding check valves to the hose part. The puck stays the same. You might anyway want to add new hoses to get a clean start, so you could just buy couple of check valves and make it balanced.
(And yes, it really is not a pleasant feeling to let cold water in/fill the She-P reservoir. It's way larger contact area than with guys. I don't recommend. I would then rather shoot something into the tubes on surface ).
I don't really know anything about any of this, but how is this different to just wearing a wetsuit? Or rather, why is the infection risk higher?
