Wha? I had this long post written and it just dissapeared!?

Anyway...good trip on the Peace with Sea Divers this weekend. Thanks to Kalani for inviting me and putting up with my poor measurement skills...

On the negative, may have taken a DCI hit...swollen hand on Sunday morning, even worse on Monday. Called DAN, seeing my doctor later. Sure hope I can still play the piano...

Kalani is OK

I just saw this.

Nice! Dette wanted to be on that trip, but we had something else in the works.

Its not often you see parasites on the head of a Gari. Nice shot.

I'm glad to see you shooting. See what a difference it makes getting real close (the cowry shot is excellent.)

Glad you're hand is gonna be OK.

Nice shots! I hope your hand feels better.

Great shots my friend! Ken's right, that Cowry shot is really nice bro. Are you still using the same camera? Almost brings me to tears to see these because I just shipped my still camera setup out to some lucky buyer. No more pics for Billy :( but lots of video! Yay! I hope your bacterial infections is clearing up. Never should have gone to Thailand in the first place! hahaha! J/K bro, I hope all is well and you're have a great 80 degree December.

I really appreciate the comments guys..very encouraging! This was the first time back int water with the camera since March and first time with the dry suit. I'm pleased with the results (particularly since my eyes cant focus on the camera screen and all of my shots are pretty much blind!!).

Billy...what happens in Thailand doesnt always STAY in Thailand...

And this is the first I hear about your calendar Ken! Ordering one TODAY!!! I'm considering buying the Inon macro lens to get even closer. Also have some ideas about lighting that I'd like to discuss with you sometime.

Here's another Cowry shot I like...one with the mantle over the shell, the other without. Note clown dorid at the top of the frame trying to sneak into the picture (and again, I didnt see him until I looked at the photo on my computer at home! Got to buy the bifocal mask...)

I really like the pose on the ugly guy (cabezon) and how close you were to him, if only the colors popped a little more... Also, I may not be his mom but i think he is cute :wink1:

I thought it was a cabezon when I first saw it, but was told it is actually a Scorpionfish =) Some of these guys allow you to get real close, even hover around for a bit. I shot 7 or 8 images. They can move pretty quickly when they have had enough!

Here's another shot, probably a little better lit.

Okay I see it now. Honestly, at first I thought he was a leopard or oyster toadfish then someone, who shall remain nameless (riguerin), said it was a Cabezon.

Thanks for sharing the pics. It has been a while since I have taken any shots and it is driving me nuts :14:

Hey Orange, thought I'd share my Atlantice Deer Corie's with you:

That is a great photo of a magnificent little creature! How big is it??

I just looked it up...the pointy bits are actually the mantle? Photos show the shell as smooth, like a chestnut, but spotted. Amzing.
