I just recently bought an Oceanic OCi to replace my computer (somehow the screen was cracked overnight by one of my buddies, no one provided details...). We were camping and I though placing it in the flatbed of a truck was a safe option. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a computer bag to provide some protection when its not in use?

Glove box??? I use these baskets on the back door

You can get a padded drawstring bag from DGX for about $5. It's meant for masks, I think, as it came with one, but I use it for both computers and it works a charm.

I use a small UK case to store my dive computers as to avoid situations similar to yours. If no UK box, a mask box will work OK as long as you don't drop a weight-belt or tank on it.

I use a generic hard sided electronics case from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Caseling-Uni...d=1496165812&sr=8-4&keywords=electronics+case

Has plenty of room to keep my computer (Geo 2.0), the strap extension, download cable, quick reference sheet, and some other odds and ends like batteries for a dive light, dive tables, or anything else small and loseable.

BTW, if I feel a need to remove it on the boat, I buckle it to a chest D-ring. That way, I can't forget it when I splash and I don't look like a nerd, especially on a liveaboard.

If it's not on my wrist it's clipped to a shoulder d ring. If not either of those places it's in a Pelican type case with my other computer, bottom timers, and back up lights. Compasses are kept in a similar case just a bit smaller. I dive a Shearwater Predator and I'm guessing it could handle a lot, unlike most computers, but I'm not willing to take the chance on putting it in a soft case. All that usually does is keep the pieces together.

I put mine in the box with my mask. Since it's a prescription mask, it gets treated carefully. So the computer get the same treatment.
