Apparently I don't have sufficient privileges to access the exploding tank. How would I go about recreating this effect in my living room? :D

ah.... you need to join "Surface Interval" to see that video.

"Surface Interval" by default is "opt in" to keep people who don't want to see non diving stuff in a seperate area that doesn't show up in new posts. (It's also not in Google search either).

goto http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/profile.php?do=editusergroups and look for the Surface Interval and Opt In and save/exit.

then click on the "I want to see a tank explode" thread again and you should be able to view it.

While you're in EDIT GROUPS, join the Pub also. You prob have to join Surface Interval First then goto http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/surface-interval and click on the Pub at the top and join it next.

With those two, you'll see a whole new side to SB that you didn't know existed. :thumb:

If that is indeed the marker which was on the Black Bart,
(which I think it is) then it was a dedication to a kid that was a deckhand for Hydrospace. he was very fair complected and died of melanoma. At least thats what I was told by an unnamed Hydrospace captain. As far as the ....

How would the marker travel from the Black Bart to the Jetties?

I looked at obits in the PC newspaper and couldnt find anything with his name or death date.

Might not have been a local.

I wonder how we can find out where the memorial marker belongs?
If someone's family wanted the marker to be near the Black Bart, then maybe we could put it back where it belongs.

This death is only a 1 1/2 old and the boy was so young, I just hate to think that their marker has been moved.

Of course. it could be that the family intented for the marker to be 35 feet down at the PC Jetties!

if it was someone who used to work at Hydrospace as a deckhand, I'd give Mike Gomez at PCDC a call. He bought all their remaining boats from Hydrospace. He might know him some or maybe he trasnfered over and worked some when the boats moved.

I'm not sure exactly where it is at the Jetties, but the sand at the jetties are in a constant state of flux, with ingoing and outdoing tides. It's sure to be covered up soon. but I'd still be leary of moving it without talking to a family member first. I just think that if someone moved my family members memorial and we went to see it and it was gone, that could case folks to get upset.

After looking at the picture again I dont think it is the same memorial. I thought it said 2003 on the plaque. My bad I have a very poor monitor and probably even worse eyesight. The marker on the Bart was on their when Hydrospace was still running. Since Gomez bought out the shop over 3 years ago that couldnt be it. Again it is my fault for conjecture. I am deeply sorry for jumping to conclusions. It would be nice to know the circumstances for this marker though. K
