HEy loonies I had a guy here at work tell me he saw a special on PBS this past weekend about a state park around Albany off of the flint river where there are springs that people were scube diving and vis was good. He can't remember what the park was and I did a quick search and can't find anything on it. I was woundering if anyone else has seen or heard of this. If so might be a good placed to go camp and dive for a dine and dive/ camp outing. let me know Tim

i havent heard of that one, i know there is a quarry around somewhere that is suppsoedly good with "primative" camping.

There is a spring in Albany, Radium Springs, but I'm not aware if it's diveable or not.

USGS Ground Water Information -- Karst photos

has pictures from the USGS on springs in South GA, Flint River. Don't know if this is what you were looking for or not Tim.

Also do a Google search on "Flint River Blue Springs", there is some info from the USGS but it's pretty technical and unless your a geologist it might not make much sense to you (at least it didn't to me)

On another site, I found this quote:

"DeLoach has a long acquaintance with the famous blue hole. He was one of the first divers to map the 1,532-foot-long Radium Springs cave system, as well as other caves in the area, including Chameleon Cave (3,585 feet) and Baker County's Blue Springs Cave (1,380 feet)."

List springs with maps in the whole state of Georgia. Most are not divable.

Chehaw State Park? There are many of these springs that are public property but require private access these days. There is one that I used to go swim at that had a single hole in one spot about 30 feet in diameter that they say no one has seen the bottom of in Brinson.

its a joke. yeah the standard "uniform" has your computer on your right wrist because you operate the scooter with your right hand and therefore your light has to be in the left hand and you need to shine your light on your computer. however I meant my comment as a joke.
