Sensible, i agreeThatsSomeBadHatHarry:If there isn't breeding in captivity, the only other place to replace a lost zoo animal would be from the natural habitat. Is it necessary? no, but it will be done. Education purposes are high on the list of reasons to have an animal in captivity.
I think that the chances for animal to go back to wild life after being raised with human are pretty low...ThatsSomeBadHatHarry:That's not to say that saving the habitat isn't important and all, but if the habitat is finally restored and we are capable of releasing young animals to the wild, we may as well be able to support some of the breeding in controlled environments. panda factories, man. panda factories.
