This first one will sound wimpy but when you're allergic, you've got to plan - What is the bug situation on Palau? Skeeters, sand fleas, etc.? And what did you wear in the water? :snorkels: November time frame - Skins, shortie 3mm?

Thanks for the help!

No problems with bugs at all. We find it more of a problem in Florida and the Caribbean.

I don't recall bugs at all. I wore 1mm skin late Jan and I think my husband was wearing lycra, but that says nothing about what you might be comfy in.

The water is warm all year any I never had and bites, from bugs at least...

In July 2001 I wore a 3mm Farmer John. My wife wore a shortie wetsuit. Jonas, our DM from Sam's dove in a pair of swim trunks. In the water temperature was not a sensation, even at 100+ feet.

I don't remember seeing a bug on the whole trip.

I have allergies too, I know what you mean;)
I was treated in Palau for Dengue Fever http://www.scubaboard.com/showpost.php?p=1369763&postcount=7
Always check the CDC website before you embark: http://www.cdc.gov/travel/index.htm

A 1mm wetsuit/skin and a 3mm hooded vest is fine; bring a rain poncho to put on as well (the boat ride out to the divesites from Land-based Ops can get windy, wet & chilly around the November time frame).

I dunno you guys - I was a little chilly in my 5mm full suit in March when I went. But then it was cloudy most of the time, so we were emerging from the water into a rainy cloudy atmosphere.

If I go again I will bring the 7 mil and beanie. But then, I run cold. ;-)

Also depends on how many dives a day you're planning to do - we did 4 per day and were chilled by the end of the day.

THANKS GUYS & GALS!! No bugs............. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm from California so I think we'll take shortie 3mm's along.
