What is the name of that tiny fish that wiggles up into men's urethra? :hm:

:D
I only wears the top wetsuit. Bottom are just beach pants.

But i've always unable to pee during a dive. On the last dive trip, i havr to force it out...

Maybe to forcing part injured the urethra... but I am not sure.
Interesting thought but no, you could not creat enough force to injury yourself. Most often inability to pee when you feel the need is simply an inability to relax enough to pee. We see this alot in people coming in for a urine drug screen. We call it a shy bladder.

It doesn't sound likely from your symptoms and not knowing your age, maybe a prostate issue?

Well, thanks for the inputs. I'll have it check later. It's 4am at my place.

The fish in question is the candiru (Vandellia cirrhosa), also known as cañero, toothpick fish, or vampire fish. It is native to the Amazon Basin. No firmly diagnosed case has as yet been documented.

Hi timz,

Bummer.

As others have suggested, your condition is almost certainly not scuba-related, but rather the result of an infection/irritation of the urinary tract/urethra. See a urologist, not a diving medicine specialist.
