All,
I signed up for the PADI Enriched Air course and wanted to see if there was any advice or hints that you folks can provide before I start the classes. Specifically, should I look into any special equiptment for the course or will my normal gear be fine?

thanks,
G.

Get the book and the charts...The charts are as much as the book, basically...10 bucks a piece and there are three. Read the book and practice using the charts. No special equipment needed. Dive with what you use diving air. You usually can even get the enriched air dives done before the classroom portion. Big thing is...have fun...;)

I am a complete math dud and managed the test without a calculator. Just bring yourself and your brain and you will do just fine :)

I did SSI's nitrox, but know how to use your tables. Know them cold. Know how to do repetitive dives on them. The one problem that anyone had in my class was that. If you haven't used the tables in awhile, go back and practice. A computer can make you rusty :)

Does any one own there own O2 analyzer?? If so what kind and how much did you pay for this thing?? I too am taking the Enriched air corse.

Regards, George
I am really bad about buying more than I need. You don't need to buy one for a very long time, but if you do - I bought AmoxTec Analox O2EII Nitrox Analyzer - $280 is the price everyone charges for it I think.

I have one of the older OMS models...off of eBay $100 something
and used this site to upgrade my sensor
http://oxycheq.com/OMS_sensor_change.html

Nowadays I would get something like the AmoxTec Analox Nitrox Analyzer O2EII

Amoxtec Analox Nitrox Analyzer - O2 Checker. New hand-held all-in- one unit. Easy dial in calibration. Quick, no hassles. Very durable. NEW Nitrox Tester NEW $270

If you are looking at PADI's online DISCOVER Enriched Air Course, be sure to note that it doesn't get you to a full Nitrox certification. It's a "discover" course with limited utility.
