I'm considering a Divemaster and then possibly Instructor course with two different LDSs. One shop is PADI, and the other shop is NAUI. I'm currently a PADI Rescue level diver.

Since I'm going to be spending a good chunk of money to become a professional with one of these agencies, I want to ensure I have best possibility for work afterward.

In the short term, the NAUI shop seems to have more work since they are opening a new shop, but I'll only be here 6 months to a year. Would you say there might be more work opportunities with PADI long term since they are larger? I'd most likely be moving around the US, but I may travel abroad as well.

I realize this answer might not be straightforward, but I appreciate any considerations and advice.

more chances to find work with PADI..by far..example..here in New York, close to me, there are LDS in Yonkers,Bronx,Mt Kisco,Greenwich Ct, Bridgeport CT, Stamford Ct, another in Stamford, at least 4 in NYC and a couple in Brooklyn.
All are PADI except 1 in NYC (SSI) and 1 in Bklyn (NAUI) Bridgeport might be both PADI and Naui .
Why not do both if you know you can get work with the NAUI facility ,then that is the way to go and plan on getting PADI also. All depends if/where you are going to get return on your investment..

International job opportunities? PADI owns the diving market, SSI is a distant second, NAUI merely exists.... in a few places outside of the US.

This is simply a statement of fact IME- not a knock.
