Tech shops often carry them, or you could try a local medical supply house.

For great prices on 100 or more (once you've determined which ones are best for you), check out this link Uncle Pug posted.

Prices for the type I use are ~$3.50 each from a dive shop, ~$1.20 each (100 min) from the website above.

I personally use Mentor Freedom Cath latex.Since they dont come in a size XX-Lg i settled for the medium(28mm) :D

I vote for the Rochester Wide Band (I know, I know, it sounds like a cigar). About $1.50 -1.70 in small quantities over the net.

Also a quick disconnect allows you to get the equipment on you ahead of time and easily, in an open boat in mixed company "hook up" to the tubing. If you get the QD with a valve you won't have the problem of peeing all over yourself, boat and so on and you can flush it at your leisure. However it require that you carry an extra QD fitting to allow you to use the unit when you are not hooked up.

I leave it on until I get back to a hot shower. Soap and warm water ease taking it off.

Wow I can't believe what's involved with these catetars. Maybe I should just buy a box of Huggies..........:eek:ut:

If you are going to do the valve installation yourself...where exactly should you put it? Anyone have any photos from different suits showing the internal and external placement?

How exactly are the hoses routed through the dive underwear jumpsuits. I'm looking at mine and the zipper starts a little high (just below my bellybutton)...I'm visualizing a tube going up, then down and out or something...kink problems?

This one is really stupid sounding :bonk: but what is the best way to determine "sizing". Too big sounds almost worse than too small but realizing the amazing size changing, temperature/fear dependent natural "shape shifting" potential of the human interface for the system, where does one start the initial expirimentation?

Mine and most of the ones i have seen are mounted on the inside left thigh.

You need to install a button hole on the left leg of your undergarment. The tube runs through your undergarment and up towards your belly and loops back down to your uhm.....well you know.Be sure not to kink the hose or you might get a semi dry drysuit:D

As far as sizing buy an assortment and see what fits best.Be sure to leave your stories of how your hung like an andaconda at the door cause most of the guys i know all wear mediums. I know its hard on our egos but sometimes the truth hurts;-0

Here are some pics of drysuit divers.

There was a big enough mental process to overcome to be able to "go" while swimming. I can't imagine the mental to wet my pants, Huggies or not. I't just been too long.

As a side advantage I'm thinking about rigging up a hose I can plug into in my Pathfinder to cut down on the number of stops on road trips. :D

Left or right sort of depends on whether you "dress right" or "dress left".

Some run down and out (those who wear boxers?) others (myself included) run the hose over the top of your trunks (those who wear briefs?), out the bottom of the zip of the undergarment and down to the valve. With the Halcyon, I didn't have to cut the hose at all. They use a nice hose called noreprene (SP??) that is flexible but won't kink.

Amen on the sizing, think "relaxed state" and cold temps when you think about sizing. Rochester I believe has a downloadable sizing chart if you are not sure.

1) where exactly should you put it?

2) how exactly are the hoses routed through the dive underwear jumpsuits.

3) sizing... where does one start the initial expirimentation?
1) On your left leg midway between knee and crotch and midway between front of thigh and inside of thigh. Use a sharp punch to cut the hole and back it with wood inside the leg so you don't get a hole out the other side of the leg.

2) Cut or burn a *button hole* in your under garment 3" to the left of midline and even with the crotch. Whip stitch around the hole to reinforce it. Pass the tube up through the hole and then back down to the cath over the top of your briefs or boxers (if worn.)

Note: If you order as set of Softwear undergarments be sure to ask for the Uncle Pug button hole.

3) Medium to start.... work down from there :D
