Earl, Ed and I went out and dove the wreck of the tug P.T. Teti south of Newport, RI today. Conditions were awesome. Vis was 20-30 ft, and there was one heck of a thermocline. We had 52 degrees F at the bottom (100ft), but above about 70 ft water temps were in the mid 60s. This is a great "Hollywood Wreck". Lots of anemones, and fish including a dogfish and even a cod (which I was too slow to get a picture of).
For the second dive we went to Seal Ledge and dove the broken up remains of the Llweylln Howland. This, wreck in contrast to the Teti, is most definitely not a "Hollywood Wreck". All that remans are some steel plates and debris scattered over the rocks and an old anchor. However, Seal Ledge is very interesting in itself. The place is covered in kelp and other algae, and teeming with fish. The depth ranged 20-40 ft. This site also provided me with the lobster dinner I just finished eating!
I'll add pictures from the dives shortly.
