And... a couple of different STA's

Comparing DSS wings and Oxycheq wings is like comparing apples and oranges...there is no real comparison in my opinion. I have owned both, and now dive exclusively with the Oxycheq Mach V Extreme 30 because it wins hands down over all of the other wings I have ever used. I have gone as far as to sell all of my other wings, and own just Oxycheq.

If you don't want to spend the extra money on the Extreme wing, then buy the standard Mach V wing with the integrated (sewn in) roll control device. You will be extremely happy, and never have to look back at your decision. Once you are properly configured and weighted (dialed in), there is practically a zero learning curve to buoyancy control with the Mach V.

For everyone who has very strong feelings about their DSS setups, I did not respond to this thread to start a long and heated debate, so I won't be participating if there is one. I'm simply sharing my own personal experiences.

Hope this helps.

You know that I have a huge collection of plates/wings... H, OMS, Agir, DSS, Oxy, etc... and I have had the same thoughts... time to sell everything and just stick with the Mach V and the Vertex.

Which Vertex do you have, Stephen?

Stephen Ash:
Is that for those "Mexico" cave diving cylinders?

I've got the 55 and love it (X8-130s). Hands down the best doubles wing I've tried.

I can't decide if I like the 18# Mach V Razor or 30# Mach V better. . .

Ya... perfect for the twin 80s that we use down there.

Oh... you gotta like that little 18!

I do use it more often: If a dive requires more than an AL80 and a 3mm, I usually skip straight to doubles.

The 30# Mach V looks cooler, though. . .

The Oxycheq Mach V Extreme Series 30lbs. and 40lbs. wings are the state of the art, and they do not require an STA. I also use Vertex wings for doubles.

Some of the best cave divers, names that one would know, are quietly using the Vertex...
