Ok I am in the market for a new single tank wing with 30 lbs of lift. The two I have my eyes on are the Oxycheq extreme and the Halcyon Eclipse. Both are quality wings but one thing that is getting me is I do not see where the extra hundred dollars comes in for the Halcyon compared to the Oxycheq extreme. Halcyon Eclipse is 465.00 and the Oxycheq Extreme is 355.00. So is there anything better on the H wing compared to the extreme? I know this is a broad statement but which is better? Is there anything I am overlooking? Which is more streamline? So know it is up to you....vote and state what you like about each and what you would purchase....

I've got the Oxy Extreme 40# and it works great and is very streamlined. Haven't tried the Halcyon, but I do know about "the 'H' tax" one has to pay to get official Halcyon products.

Do you feel that the 40 lb has plenty of lift? It is very close in size to the 30 and iam border line on my lift, iam going back and forth between 30 and 40 lbs

I'm a big guy with a big drysuit who needs LOTS of ballast. 40# is plenty of lift for me, even with DSS weight plates on my SS backplate. (Rest of ballast on a belt.)

I have an oxycheq, but were I to do it all over again I would get the halcyon. Better shape, support, and shorter stock LP inflation hose.

Halcyon!! Nice shape/profile and as mentioned shorter corrugated hose. At the end of the day it is about availability and cost. I would suggest 30lb, the 40 is way too much lift, not that it's an issues. My instructor uses a 40lb H wing, & SS plate for his doubles with stages!!

Oxycheq Extreme has a very puncture proof outer shell that resists cutting and things like urchin spine penetration.
They also have a 26 oz bladder material which is very thick. I have a 40# regular Sinature series Mach V which is the exact same thing except for the outer material.
It's very narrow and streamlined.

I know nothing about Halcyon gear. I've never seen one used by anybody I dive with or at any other dive sites in Northern California so I can't comment on it, but we have some very challenging conditions and If there isn't any Halcyon stuff around maybe that says something? I don't know. Or it could be we just don't have any dealers around and/or people don't want to spend that kind of money.

I have Oxycheq Signature Mach V 30lb, same shape as extreme series, just a less tough outter shell. My AOW instructor uses Halcyon 30lb wing.

Mach V wing is lower profile, flatter. It is just a bit wider than a standard SS plate. It is longer tho, not very friendly with short tanks. I have used HP80 tanks. The wing is longer than the tank at the bottom. So you need to be careful putting down the setup or else you can pitch the wing. LP77/HP100 is the shortest tank I would recomment for Mach V wing if you want to avoid this accidental pitching issue. Halcyon wing has softer outtter shell. It is shorter and wider. More rounded. I would probably agree it shapes better. Mach V signature wing appears to be tougher than Halcyon wing to me, so I can only imagine Extreme series would be even better.

Well I ended up going with the Halcyon Eclipse 30lb wing. I got a nice deal from my LDS for the wing. Which is one of the reasons why I picked it. My LDS shot me a price almost the same as the Oxycheq Extreme wing.:D. So needless to say I am a happy camper. Thank you everyone for the help and info.
