Hi,

Any why won't he let me near a double bladder? Pardon my ignorance as I've not gotten that far yet LOL!

I already do have a singles setup and this is going to be my doubles setup.

Thanks,
SangP

Its just not a very DIR configuration (kind of like having political oposition in Singapore it might be a good idea in some circumstances, but it aint gonna happen :dazzler1: ), they would rather you dive in a dry suit (even in 30 degree water) than use a double bladder wing. This is just what i have been "lectured" on in the DIR forum, Gideon may think differently and offer a more reasoned solution to heavy tanks in tropical waters

Ah...

Double bladders I get it...anyway, I most likely won't go for a double bladder setup too much potential failure. A decent 50 double shell wing should be fine. Say, Albion call me, I just pm you my number, maybe you can sms me your number too.

Cheers,
SangP

Actually there's not "too much potential failure" with a dual wing - just don't hook up an inflator hose to the second inflator. You only dive a single bladder at a time, not both, so there's no more potential failure points than a single bladder wing, with the difference being, if there is a failure, you've got another inflator you can orally inflate. If a diver can't deal with oral inflation of a wing at depth, they should be questioning what they're doing diving a doubles configuration in the first place. If you've lost the use of the primary inflator, turn the dive and surface, while orally inflating as needed.

You don't *have* to have a second inflator hose hooked up. Most people dive them with both inflators hooked up though, and you'll find most of the arguments against dual wings are related to unexpected inflation of the redundant bladder, through slow leaks, or runaway inflation etc. Don't hook it up, and the problem is eliminated.

That's one way of diving them anyway.
