I just found this video on YouTube that talks about research at the US Naval Experimental Diving Unit to find a solution to Oxygen toxicity for SEALs. The description of how ketones function is a bit outdated but the most interesting parts for divers is how hyperbaric oxygenation damages cancer cells and how ketones might be effective in reducing OxTox seizures.

You never know where research can take you.

Interesting, just goes to show how changes in environment conditions can take something potentially very good and make it lethal.

Keto diet is being researched heavily outside of diving and has had some positive effects on neurological and psychological issues.
In the end risk/ benefit analysis is likely going to be very subjective.
Also reading on HGH possibly being a risk factor for cancer, being studied as the US leads the world in off label use and HGH is touted for antiaging to boomers like us.
