The Max is a great overall regulator, I use mine in some of the worst diving conditions available here in Chicago; or the world for that matter
no visibility (Lake Barringtons silt)
below 45 Degrees

slimy water: some quarries get this way over a summer. It has never let me down in those conditions. I also have a G250/MK20 which I use in the summer and down south because it breathes a little better at depth. Your Sherwood will be just fine at the recreational limit and if you would ever like to dive the polar ice caps the reg can handle it. If you can get it serviced by a local dive shop easily
its a winner.
