I spent a week in Anse Chastenet last July. I believe their dive operation is SSI, as a matter of fact the dive videos for SSI were taped there. The dive operation was very good, and really focused on safety, however the people that went with us for certification used an instructor we brought with us.
Something you might want to consider about Anse Chastenet is it's seclusion, I mean if your not taking a water taxi to Soufries or Castries your pretty well stuck at the resort.

Can't comment directly on your specific dive operators. I would highly recommend doing the class and pool work before going down, and simply doing the OW portion in St. Lucia. We went this route when we went to St. Lucia in February.

We took our clases and pool sessions in Calgary and took our referral down to St. Lucia and got our certification with Eastern Caribbean Diving. They are located in Rodney Bay, adjacent to the Windjammer Landing Resort. We had a great time with them.

Hi All, Thanks for your informative replies.

I did not have time to schedule the theory and cinfined dives at home in NJ, so that I could do the referral 4 OW dives. Then, I was going to do resort dives, but was concerned that I might not be getting enough information (safety wise). So I obtained the OW diver course materials and in theory, I am well prepared for a resort dive. MAybe I'll be able to do an OW course on island.

As of now, I have not yet made any pre-arrangements, but we'll see what happens while i'm there. At the very least it will be a resort dive or 2, perhaps OW certification.

cheers!
