Is there a depth requirement to the ow cert? If so, how deep?
Thanks,
Spencer

During training- sorry for not being clear.

From your earlier posts, I saw that your course will start next month, so I assumed you’re asking about training dives.

The answer might vary with certifying agency, but for the typical PADI Open Water Diver course, the minimum depth for open water skill evaluation is 15 feet with one skill requiring 20-30 feet. The first two training dives should not exceed 40 feet and the second two should not exceed 60 feet.

For diving after certification, there are recommendations that you will learn during your course.

Sounds real close to what we did last week during my OW cert. (PADI) During the 1st 2 dives, after our skills portion at 20', we were exploring at 27' and 29'. The next 2, after skills at 20' were at 39' and 47'. Very enjoyable!
:D :D :D :D :D Still trying to get the silly grin off my face. Boss thinks I'm on drugs.

...I'm confused.............
:shakehead

Note: I didn't post above - somebody else was on my laptop & posted it under my username (which automatically logs-on anytime one goes to ScubaBoard from this laptop)

I'm not confused at all! - and neither anymore is the person who posted that they were and to whom I have explained the conversation in this thread (and who has further been solemnly sworn under penalty of great consequence to never post on ScubaBoard ever, ever, again under my UserID !!!!)
