The thread in question is about whether or not a diver is "overweighted during a dive", not whether a diver is overweight.
"Overweighted during a dive" is referring to the amount of lead weight the diver is carrying to obtain proper buoyancy control.

To be accurate "overweighted during a dive" is BOYANCY CONTROL. If a diver is overweighted he is that all the dive from the surface to the end of a dive (nothing to do with BMI) and it´s a basic skill to determine how much weight is proper. If someone doesn't know the differences and how to manage with these basic subjects of diving DON'T DIVE untill you know!!!
