Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and new to diving NC. Last dive was off the coast of Maine and I'm planning/hoping to get wet over the 4th of July. Not wishing to go deep since it's been almost 5 years since suiting up, I'd like to do some shallow, low-key stuff. Any recommendations in the area?
TIA,
Jeff

I haven't been diving there, but my wife has been several times. From what she has told me and and from what I have read online there doesn't really seem to be much that I would consider shallow. I do believe most her dives were in the 80--90 foot range. You might want to check with a dive operation to see what they say though.

As far as dive ops go she is a big fan of outer banks diving in Hateras Village. And if my memory serves me correctly that might also be the closest to Ocracoke, but I am not 100% positive about that.

Glad you found us! This is a great place to spend your SI, but watch out, it's addictive!

I'm sure you'll have an answer from the folks who really know, but when I was researching, I didn't find too much that was less than about the 80' mark. Most of the wreck (if I recall correctly) were in the 80' + range. So it may depend on what you call "deep".
