I'll be there, since MSRA is presenting on Sunday morning, I think. We're a replacement for someone who can't be there. I'll probably drive drive down to Chicago on Saturday and stay overnight.

We'll also be at the North American Shipwreck & Dive Show in Michigan on March 18 and Ghostships in Milwaukee on March 24 & 25.

Well, if there is enough interest in meeting for either dinner &/or drinks, I don't mind putting something together, since I'm local & know that area fairly well. I'm thinking Sat. night might be good. We'll see how much interest there is in meeting up & go from there.

Cool! But don't forget, the film festival starts at 8:00

Pete,
Bring your long johns, The Windy city will be cool that weekend,Man last year was,
and bring some scubaboard T shirts, and some stickers,

Nah, just normal Chicago winter wonderland... The weather report indicates max temps in the upper 20s during the weekend.

I park in the CTA lot a couple of blocks away. It's a brisk walk to the convention center.

Great !
It looks like we have a few who are interested in dinner. I'll check out a few places that are close by the D.E.S. Convention Center & see which restaurants can accomodate a large group. I'll post the info, date & time, here in this thread. I might also start a new thread as well, if this one gets too large, it might be tough to weed through all the posts & find the details.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone. This has been discussed almost every year but has yet to happen. I am hoping this is the year we can all pull it together.

I am looking for a place to stay. Any recomendations?
Yes, I'll post some hotel options for you tommorrow, here.

If you are flying in for Our World Underwater:
These hotels are either just across the street from the Convention Center or actually attached to the Convention Center. You will not need additonal transportation if you pick one of these hotels, as each hotel has a shuttle bus to & from the airport. You can also get downtown for sightseeing very easily using, the CTA Blue Line, just a short walk north from the D.E.S. Convention Center.

If you are driving or getting a rental car you have even more choices.
Here are two, you can find even more by just Googling 'Rosemont Hotels'.

There are many hotels, from luxury to economy available & they are just a short car/cab ride away from the Convention Center.
Unfortunatly, the economy hotels are not walking distance to the Convention Center.

Here is a fairly good web site about Rosemont. Has some downloadable maps, list of restaurants, visitor information etc. It's worth a look.

As for a location for dinner on Feb. 25th, I am going to look at a couple places tonight & see what size group they can accomodate & to check on menu prices. There are some very nice (expensive) restaurants nearby. But I thought a nice & moderate priced location might be better for everyone.
