ok i dont realy scuba dive (but i want to) and i swim in a 12 foot deep pool and i can get to the bottom (doing deap breathing exercises that i learned from that david blaine bubble think)(by the way it was a ripoff)and just kinda sit there for a bit but today i did thatand i went to ecualize and one ear did fine but the other wouldnt so i blew harder(opps) and it did it but now my ear hurts so bad its sucks...what do i do

Always equilize before & durring decent.
The greatest pressure increase is in the first 15', it doubles.
If you have a problem, acsent a bit then try again.
Do not force it!

Sounds like you injured your ear, and the pain could get a lot worse if infection sets in. Been there. Medical attention might be a good idea. See Dive Medicine forum...

So you know about Shallow Water Blackout? A painless way to die, but who wants that. See Freediver forum.

Good luck, dive safely... ;)

:hmmm: I think it doubles at 33 ft...?

Welcome to Scubaboard...you may want to go to the DR.

Then when Dr. clears you take a discover scuba class and welcome to the addiction (Umm I mean hobby).

i do it was only 6 feet when i did it it didnt hurt it was annoying(the pressure) but the poping hurt

the more you do it, the easier it gets - on your ears - I've noticed anyway

I've been told that your ears actually become accustomed to it and 'give'

after I equalize for the first 40' ish, then all I have to do is swallow to release the pressure now
