Osteopenia and scuba are there risks?

A friend of mine has been searching the internet to get info on whether or not it is risky to dive with osteopenia. There is the question of necrosis to the bone but since this only happens to older women, there may not be much info out there regarding it. Anyone have any medical information as it relates to this? Thanks for any input.
