There was a public meeting yesterday on the EPA's plans to reef the Oriskany. 100 supporters showed up and no opponents. The EPA chief said he has received hundreds of letters supporting the project and not one against it.

The EPA has determined that the final issue, PCBs in the wiring and gaskets, do not pose a significant problem. The public comment period ends Jan 19 and unless something new pops up (speak now or forever be silent), it looks like it will be approved shortly afterwards and sunk before June.
