Just wanted to shoot the board an update on The MIGHTY O....I dove the site on Sunday the 13th and could not have asked for a better day. Sunshine - 93 degrees....1' seas....maybe a 1 knot current at the site.....100' of viz. AND NO OIL ANYWHERE TO BE SEEN.
We were the only group on site and that made the dive even better. Saw some of the biggest AJs I had ever seen....huge school of Vermillion Snapper just swam right through the group creating a great bonding moment with the marine life.
Did a swim through the fly-bridge which was freakin awesome!! In case you cannot tell, this was my first time doing the "O" and I was impressed. Dove Nitrox for the first time also and it really helped with my post-dive fatigue. New depth record for me...119'.
Am really hoping this will not be the last gulf dive this summer.....
I have some GREAT video of the dive on my FB...if anyone can tell me how to link it over I will gladly do so.
