Just wanted to get the opinions on the Dive Rite Nitek Duo...and if you use it then what types of diving do you use it on......

the Duo (and the Pro) are good computers. they have two mixes programmable, so you can do light to medium deco

i know several full-cave divers who use the Duo

if you are going to do Trimix, you're going to need a computer that does Helium, which the Duo does not. but for cave diving, it's a great computer

all of the cave men in my local community have one or two....i think its part of the secret hand shake.

i bought one, too. I have only used it for a nitrox computer, so far. But when i get to deco diving, i will be ready. 8)

I have used a Duo for several years when diving with 2 gasses and have not had a problem. Easy to program, easy to read, and has done a fine job for me.

Great computer, almost as great as the venerable Nitek 3 :)

Great computer. Used it in Bikini Atoll in August. 2 deco dives a day for a week and it worked fine.

I have a Tusa IQ 700 (exactly the same seiko computer as the Duo) that I have used on maybe two hundred dives with 30 or so deco dives - no problems. On dives where I will be using more than two mixes I use it in gauge mode along side a Nitek HE. I also use it on gauge mode to track my profiles as an aquarium diver and have probably two hundred of those. I use the downloader and dump my dives directly into Scubase. I highly recommend this computer for folks looking for something a little more capable than the typical one gas recreational computer.

I had 2 of the Tusa IQ700s they where JUNK! When I got them they didn't register until I got to 20 feet. They told me to reset them. All was well on 3 more short dives in the local quarry. Flew to Key Largo and went out on a boat. My son was wearing one of them and when we got back on the boat he said that it started reading random depths then put him into Deco (on the boat). I guess they had a manufacturing problem. Just my experience. I traded them in on 2 Aeris XR2s. No problems with them.

I have an IQ700. One of the buttons stopped working last weekend. The Duos have had a lot of reliability problems (maybe fixed now????)

Nice computer when it works but I would not buy another one.
