Openwater SCUBA Class February 13, 2009

Where, Westchester Family YMCA
Just North of LAX. On the corner of Sepulveda and 80th.
Indoor Pool
Introduction and go over expenses at 6:30 p.m.
Bring pen, swim suit, towel.
There will be a swim evaluation
The course will be on Fridays and Tuesday
6:30 - 9:45.
Tuesday lectures
Friday pool sessions.
You will have 5 to 6 pool sessions, so you can practice the skills needed.
Sorry, I do not do one pool session and take you to the ocean.
Los Angeles County, NAUI, PADI, SEI certifications available.

I do not think so. It is called liability insurance. The County of Los Angeles is not providing insurance and the various members who assisted with it would have to use their insurance for the volunteers. The Los Angeles County Association who assisted the 3R's program used their own insurance, for those who had it. Most did not have insurance. I know the UIA assisted the program when GLACD started setting it up. I have not heard from GLACD this year on the matter. It was a very good volunteer program for many years.

I would like to mention, as soon as certain organzational changes are done, you may see the various programs the Los Angeles County Underwater Instructors Association run them, like the 3R's, Divers Safety Day and other programs.
Remember UICC and ADP are Los Angeles County programs. They will be taught.
Look for future dates.
